PARIS – A gala fundraiser for the historic Hamlin Memorial Library and Museum will take place Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Community Club’s Academy Building on Paris Hill.
Maine humorist “Henry Bascomb,” portrayed by Maine native Chaitanya York, will present his down home Down East humor.
Bascomb has appeared from Maine to Las Vegas for 20 years, presenting his unique take on life, performing at numerous national meetings and conventions.
Before the show, hors d oeuvres will be served, with desserts following.
The gala will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 a person and are available at the Hamlin Memorial Library on Paris Hill, the Paris Public Library in South Paris or Books-N-Things, Main Street, Norway. Seating is limited to 60. Tickets, at $40 a person, may be available at the door.
The library and museum, located in the old granite Oxford County jail on Paris Hill, was started in 1902 and still serves as library for the community, besides housing historic artifacts and documents .
