Home-health agency, Geiger in top 10

LEWISTON – Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and Geiger were ranked among the top 10 best places to work in Maine. The rankings were announced last week during a ceremony in Augusta.

AHCH was ranked third and Geiger eighth among large businesses. Manpower-Maine’s Auburn branch was third in the medium category, while Oxford Networks, headquartered in Lewiston, was ranked ninth in the medium category.

Forty-four Maine companies applied for the honor, paying between $400 and $900 for registration and a detailed employee survey.

The companies were evaluated on employee satisfaction with salary, benefits, company communication, job growth potential and human resources. Half the 44 companies that applied were ultimately named a Best Place to Work in Maine.
