I have known Wayne Gallant for more than 25 years. I have worked with him as a partner on the beat and as my superior when he was promoted to Lieutenant Investigator. He and I were fellow Drug Abuse Resistance Education instructors. In fact, he was one of the first DARE officers in the state, and was instrumental in bringing the DARE program to Maine.
Gallant has many good qualities, not the least of which include working with at-risk youths and helping to empower battered spouses. But I think what sets him apart from others is his impeccable honesty, integrity, commitment to serve and leadership ability.
On Nov. 7, I will be casting my vote for Wayne Gallant as the next sheriff of Oxford County.
