SABATTUS – James C. Edwards Jr., 79, of Sabattus, died at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 11, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on July 2, 1927, in Poland, the son of James Sr. and Gladys (Stevenson) Edwards. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He worked for many years in the shoe industry at Bates Mill, performing maintenance. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows.
He is survived by his daughter, Rosalie Edwards of Sabattus; sons, Jeffrey L. of Sabattus and James C. Edwards III of Oregon; sisters, Marge Benway of Auburn and Nancy Edwards of Auburn; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Priscilla M. Cleary.
