AUBURN – Walton Elementary School was locked for a short time Friday morning after a parent called to warn that her child’s biological father might come to the school to abduct the child.

Police went to the school and investigated the situation. Soon after, they notified the school that there was no problem, Assistant Superintendent Tom Morrill said.

The school locked the one outside door that was open, but did not go into a complete lockdown, which would have meant locking classroom doors and keeping staff and students where they were, Morrill said.
