WILTON – The 50th wedding anniversary of Bernard and Jeannine Butler of Wilton was celebrated at a surprise dinner, hosted by their daughters, at the Waterfront Restaurant in Camden.
A floral centerpiece, a replica of the original bridal bouquet, was made by Patricia Horine, and a two-tier anniversary cake, which was the image of the original wedding cake, was served. The couple enjoyed the weekend at the Samoset Resort.
Mr. Butler and the former Jeannine Saunders were married on June 9, 1956, at Sacred Heart Church in Waterville.
Their children are Pamela Butler of Portland, Linda and Stewart Robertson of Vancouver, British Columbia, Nancy Butler of Waterville and Susan and Robert Carlton of Kingfield. Their grandchildren are Jacob and Nicholas Carlton and Cameron Butler.
Mr. Butler is retired from SAD 9, Mt. Blue High School mathematics department and is a member of the Wilton Lions Club.
Mrs. Butler is retired from the University of Maine at Farmington.
