I am pleased to write a letter of support for Richard Wagner, Democrat, running for House of Representatives District 73, Lewiston.

Dick is a neighbor who leads by example. He is the president of the Neighborhood Association, nudging all of us to become involved as citizens in issues pertinent to our surroundings in the Bates College area.

Because of his initiative, he was able to move Bates College to modify its plans and design for the new dormitory, so it would have as little impact as possible on the surrounding area and maintain public access to Mt. David. He met on a regular basis with Bates administrators, working out a compromise acceptable to people in the neighborhood, Lewiston residents and Bates College. He attended city meetings and many inspiried people joined him.

It is my impression that he will listen to his larger neighborhood when he is elected to the House.
