LITCHFIELD – Raymond and Rolande Pomerleau recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a surprise lakeside gathering in Litchfield, given by their children.

Guests came from as far away as California, Minnesota, North Carolina, Maryland, Florida, New Hampshire and throughout Maine. The Pomerleaus treated themselves in early June to a much anticipated trip to Alaska, and upon their return, were taken to the Munroe Inn, where they shared their experience and pictures over dinner with their family.

The couple was married on June 16, 1956, and they make their home in Vero Beach, Fla., and summer here in Litchfield. They have four children, Claire and husband, Maurice Laplante, of Sabattus, Marcel and wife, Lynn Pomerleau, of Wales, Dennis and wife, Gail Pomerleau, of Litchfield, and Denise Barker of Lewiston. They also have six grandchildren, Desneige Barker, Mariah and Brandon Pomerleau, and Ryan, Kevin and Lauren Laplante.
