LISBON – The wedding of Sarah Sue St. Pierre and Christian Charles Gurney was held at 1 p.m. on June 24 at Holy Trinity Church. The Rev. Lionel Chouinard and Deacon Dennis Popadak officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Gurney is the daughter of Sue and Marc Desjardins of Lisbon and Mike St. PIerre of Auburn. Mr. Gurney is the son of Sherry and Charlie Gurney of Lisbon Falls.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length, A-line gown with long train, embroidered with delicate pearl and jewel flowers and also wore a matching headpiece and a veil with rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of a dozen and a half pink and white roses with white stephanotis.

Happy Cote was maid of honor for her college friend, and bridesmaids were Heather St. Pierre, sister of the bride, Molly Robitaille, sister of the bridegroom, Angela Akladiss, high school friend, and Kelli Powers, college friend and past roommate. Hailey Gurney, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

Serving as best man was Kris McClure, high school friend, and ushers were Jeff Robitaille, brother-in-law, and Jeff Ruth, college friend and roommate. Adam Desjardins, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Brunswick, after which the couple went on a seven-day cruise to the Southern Caribbean. They are residing in Auburn.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Lisbon High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Southern Maine. She is employed as a nurse with an OB/GYN office at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Mr. Gurney is a 1999 graduate of Lisbon High School and a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph’s College. He is employed as a physical education teacher at Turner Elementary School and also coaches boys junior varsity basketball at Leavitt Area High School.
