Triad meeting
LEEDS – The Rural Androscoggin County Triad will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Rural Community Action Ministry, 81 Church Hill Road. The program will be fire prevention, a safety course for seniors. Members of the Leeds Fire Department will present the program. The public is invited. Society supper
WILTON – The Farmington Society of Friends, in collaboration with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and the First Congregational Church/UCC of Farmington, will hold a potluck supper and a one-hour presentation by Sascha Deri on “Renewable Energy Basics for Homeowners” on Friday, Oct. 20. There will be time for discussion afterward. It is an opportunity to learn more about how to make changes at home to improve energy efficiency as well as to consider what to do to stop global warming.
Deri is the president and co-founder of the Alternative Energy Store. He graduated from Orono High School and has a BA in physics from Earlham College and BS in electrical engineering from the University of Southern Maine.
The supper will begin at 6 p.m. and the presentation at 7 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 59 High St.

Basket bingo
FARMINGTON – A Longaberger Basket Bingo will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Farmington Elks Lodge.
The Otis Federal Credit Union’s Ending Hunger Committee is collecting items to fill the baskets, as well as monetary donations. Items to sell as concessions are also welcome. Last year proceeds helped seven local food pantries.
Those who would like to contribute should call the credit union at 897-0900 or send donation to Otis Federal Credit Union, PO Box 27, Jay ME 04239. Raffle tickets may also be purchased at the 170 Main St. office in Jay.
