OQUOSSOC – The Rangeley Region Guide’s and Sportsmen’s Association will meet on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the clubhouse, Old Skiway Drive.
A potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by a brief membership meeting and guest speakers.
The topic will be “Supplemental Feeding of Deer and Wintering Deer Yards” by Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife deer project manager Lee Kantar and Matt Tarr, researcher and author of “Supplemental Feeding of White Tail Deer and Wintering Deer Yards.”
The annual Youth Deer Day in Maine will be held Saturday, Oct. 21. Kids age 10 to 16 who possess a junior hunting license can take one deer of either sex. The club will offer free breakfasts and a free hunter orange club logo hat to any licensed junior hunters participating.
The breakfast is also open to adults accompanying the young hunters and to the public for a donation of $6 a person. Breakfast will be served from 4:30 to 10 a.m. It will include eggs, pancakes, home fries, various meats, toast, muffins, coffee, milk and juices.
