AUBURN – Michael Martin, 60, formerly of 44 Bartlett St., Lewiston, died Monday morning, Oct. 16, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

He was born in Lewiston on July 23, 1946, the son of Albert S. and Emma (Roy) Martin. He attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School Class of 1964, where he was active in various sports.

He worked for many years in the local shoe industry and, most recently, at Allen Edmonds Shoe, where he retired due to ill health.

He was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Mike was an avid bowler and accumulated many trophies over the years.

He is survived by his sisters, Monita Buteau and her husband, Charles, Joan Sampson and her husband, Maurice, and Lorraine Poretta, all of Lewiston; his brother, Robert Martin and his wife, Isabel, of Wallingford, Conn.; a special niece, Claire Storm and her husband, Bill, of Lewiston; and by many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his longtime special friend, Gertrude Sullivan and her five children, Terry Piscura, Linda Noddin, Susie Haynes, John and Tony Sullivan, who were very dear to Mike.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Albert J. and Richard; a brother who died at birth; and his sister Pat Farrand.
