LEWISTON – The Abused Women’s Advocacy Project will hold an open house at its new office at 484 Main St. from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Light refreshments will be served.
AWAP offers a 24-hour help line, an emergency shelter, transitional services, support and information, advocacy within the court systems and other supportive resources, youth services, community education, school-based dating violence prevention services, and a batterers’ education group.
In 2005-06 AWAP staff and volunteers provided services to 1,920 men, women and children in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties.
