LEWISTON – The Abused Women’s Advocacy Project will hold an open house at its new administrative and court outreach office space located at 484 Main St.

AWAP will open its doors to the community from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. Light refreshments will be served.

AWAP offers a 24-hour helpline; emergency shelter; transitional services; support and information; advocacy in the court systems and other supportive resources; youth services; community education; school-based dating violence prevention services; and a batterers’ education group.

In 2005-2006 AWAP staff and volunteers provided services to 1,920 men, women and children in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties.
