HEBRON – Hebron Academy Head of School John King welcomed the newest members of the school’s faculty this year, noting, “Our new teachers and staff bring remarkable energy, enthusiasm for young people and experience to our community.”

The new faculty include a Hebron graduate and the parent of a Hebron alumnus. Jamie Fey, a native of Raymond and a graduate in the class of 2002, has returned to teach English and science in the academy’s middle school. She graduated from Middlebury College with degrees in English and biology. Fey is also coaching field hockey and girls’ lacrosse.

Jacqueline Curley, whose son graduated from Hebron, returns to the school to teach French. She has a B.A. in French from the University of Maine and MA in studio art from Lesley University, and has taught French in Rangeley, Whitman, Mass., and Port Huron, Mich. She recently also taught art in the Wiscasset School System. Curley lives in the Portland area where she is an active member of the Cumberland County Democratic Committee.

Science teacher James Maldonis, originally from Arlington, Mass., comes to Hebron after graduating from Bates College in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in biological chemistry. His pursuit of teaching stems from work as a teaching assistant at Bates in general chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and molecular biology.

He is coaching the junior varsity boys’ soccer team. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Maldonis will assist with a research project at the Channing Laboratory at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston that examines the effects of air pollution in the greater Boston area on people with Type II diabetes.

Maxwell Jones comes to Hebron Academy after a year of teaching and coaching at the Culver Academies in Indiana. He teaches all levels of Latin, from beginning to advanced placement, bridging the upper and middle schools.

Jones received his BA in classical studies from Middlebury College in 2005, with a minor in French, concentrating in Latin and Roman literature. Jones resides among the young men in the Sturtevant dormitory as a dorm faculty and coaches soccer and alpine skiing. Formerly a competitive freestyle skier, he is a nationally certified ski patroller and outdoor emergency care technician.

Elizabeth Yale-Loehr graduated in 2006 with a degree in economics and European history from Middlebury, where she captained the three-time NESCAC League and NCAA championship ice hockey team. She is teaching in the Academic Support Center and is serving as dormitory faculty in Halford Dormitory. Yale-Loehr is coaching the girls’ JV soccer and lacrosse and will be head coach of the girls’ ice hockey team.

William Flynn grew up in Dublin, N.H., and attended Providence College, where he received a B.A. in English. He taught writing and literature at Landmark High School in Beverly, Mass., for five years, during which time he earned a master’s degree in special education from Simmons College. At Hebron Flynn teaches English and history and assists in the Academic Support Center. He coaches soccer and basketball.

A native of Scituate, Mass., Jessica Keeley graduated in 2006 with a major in political science and minor in Spanish from Trinity College, where she played field hockey and ice hockey for four years. At Hebron, she teaches history and contemporary American politics, and coaches field hockey and girls’ varsity hockey.

David Inglehart, associate director of college counseling and communications coordinator, received his B.A. from Colby College. and his M.A. from Middlebury College, and taught English at Northfield Mount Hermon for 15 years. In 1995 he founded Troubadour Interactive and began producing a series of multimedia textbooks on American and European history, the latest of which, “Born in Battle,” received Best Reference citation from Library Journal for 2001.

In staffing positions, Christine Hemmings has been named middle school office administrator. She graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass., with a B.S. in business management and was previously the administrator for the Boxberry School, an independent elementary school in Oxford.

Rachel Stevenson graduated from Simmons College this year with a bachelor’s degree in English and is working as the assistant in Hupper Library.
