LEWISTON – Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation is coordinating its annual health fair, the “Fall Fitness Frenzy.” There will be 20 exhibitors present to offer free health screenings, demonstrations and education from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Marshwood, 33 Roger St.

“We have organized this event numerous times and have always had a great response. It all began with the suggestion from an area physician,” said Candy Greenwood, admissions director. “People in the community are not always aware of the helpful services and resources available to them.”

The health screenings, such as blood sugar, blood pressure, bone density, hearing, vision, breathing, balance and chiropractic spinal screens are free. Physical therapists will be able to check out walkers and other assistive aids.

Demonstrations of Lifeline, mobility devices, respiratory equipment and neck coolers will be shown. Education about musculoskeletal pain modalities, lasik eye surgery, osteoporosis, hospice care, Alzheimer’s programs and Medicare D will be shared. There will be free manicures, massages and information about electrolysis.

Other topics will include skin care and nutritional supplements. A light lunch will be available for purchase.

There will be a display of scarecrows which were made by employees and residents of Marshwood. The fair is open to the public. Call Candy Greenwood at 784-0108 for more information.
