Being a resident of Monmouth, and owner of a small family business in Lewiston, I met Rep. Nancy Smith in 2002. At that time, several state agencies were in the process of shutting down automotive performance and specialty equipment businesses in Maine. With Smith being a small business owner, I felt she might be able to help.

My business, as well as several hundred other similar businesses, need legislators such as Smith to assist us in working with public officials and agencies in Augusta that are responsible for developing the rules and regulations that govern us. Smith has made it obvious that she feels small businesses have to flourish as they evolve.

She has supported auto businesses as well as her constituents since being elected. Her tireless efforts and accomplishments have earned our gratitude and the respect of her peers in the Legislature.
