We met Norm Ferguson during the early part of our campaign for State Senate. He and his wife embraced and coached us on the trials and tribulations of politics. As we watched them together, we understood why he became local legend as a former state senator.

Successful politicians need a close family life to sustain their energy level in good and bad times. Barbara and “Fergie” are like Velcro, connected to each other and to the public with solidarity, grace and professionalism while understanding the importance of having their individual needs satisfied while separated for days at a time.

Now, our friend and neighbor has cast his hat to become Oxford County treasurer. He is committed to be a full- time, stay-in-Maine, county treasurer. We cannot think of a more competent person to be responsible for Oxford County’s financial matters.
