LISBON – Mr. and Mrs. James Williams of Lisbon are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Janessa A. Williams, to Kurt J. Hamel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Hamel of Greene.

Miss Williams is the granddaughter of Blanche Gordon and the late Maurice Gordon of Lisbon and Constance Williams and the late Leslie Williams of Skowhegan. She is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation. She is currently taking classes towards her master’s degree in speech pathology and working part time and doing her internship at Sandcastle Preschool in Lewiston.

Mr. Hamel is the grandson of Elise Hamel and the late Ramon Hamel of Lewiston and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Gendreau of Casco. He is a 1998 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and is the store manager at V.I.P. in Farmington.

The couple was recently engaged while on a cruise to the Bahamas, celebrating Miss Williams’ graduation and her parents 25th wedding anniversary. They are currently residing in New Vineyard.

An Oct. 20, 2007, wedding is planned.
