WINOOSKI, Vt. (AP) – A Burlington man was to be arraigned Monday in what police say was an attempt to kidnap a woman off a street in Winooski.

Police said they were able to track down Timothy Mumley, 45, of 64 Lafountain Street in Burlington, a few hours after the incident, because the woman provided them with a detailed description and the license plate number of his vehicle. Police said the woman told them she was walking down Weaver Street in Winooski with her toddler when Mumley got out of his pickup truck and tried to pull her inside. She said he was then scared off by another driver who stopped and honked. Police ask that the motorist who stopped and honked contact them.

Mumley was to be arraigned on attempted kidnapping and attempted sexual assault charges, police said.
