LEWISTON – Lewiston-Auburn College will host a Meet the Candidates forum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in Room 170 at the college, 51 Westminster St.

All candidates for the state Senate and House of Representatives whose districts, either wholly or partially, are in Androscoggin County, have been invited to participate.

Students participating in this event are currently taking a course in the media and politics offered through the leadership and organizational studies program at L-A College.

All candidates will be invited to deliver brief opening statements and address what they believe to be key issues the Legislature will face in the next session. After opening statements, the student moderator and a student panel will address some questions to the candidates. Questions from the audience will be taken if time permits.

The forum will provide legislative candidates an opportunity to discuss campaign issues with students and members of the community. This is the eighth such event held at the campus and is open to the public. For more information, phone the college at 753-6500.
