PARIS – New year enrollment started this month for Oxford County 4-H. Membership is open to all youths age 5 to 18 and has many areas children in which can get involved.
Projects range from animals and livestock to arts and crafts and can include woodworking, rocketry, gardening and more. They can learn citizenship, leadership and participate in the planning and running of the club, plus join in the many county-sponsored events.
If a club is not available, parents can form one for the neighborhood youth. Clubs can range in size from four to as many as the volunteer leader/leaders are willing to work with.
It is easy to start a new club or join an existing one. For more details on how to get involved with 4-H, contact Susan Jennings, Extension educator, at the Oxford County Extension Office, 9 Olson Road, South Paris, ME 04281 or telephone 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482.
