I write to support the re-election of State Representative Elaine Makas of Lewiston, House District 71. She has been a strong supporter in Augusta for our community. She has worked hard to clean up the Androscoggin River. Makas is a strong advocate for veterans, affordable health care and prescription drugs. As an associate professor at L-A College, she is a firm believer in affordable education for all.

Makas has been, and continues to be, committed as a volunteer in many community organizations, such as the Franco Festivals and Public Theatre, and is a season ticket holder for the Lewiston Maineiacs, sitting behind the Maineiacs bench with her 96-year-old mother.

She deserves re-election. My wife Pat and I will be voting for her.
