The Maple Street park in Lewiston provided such place to play for the children of that neighborhood. When city officials removed the park to gain access to the Ritz building for demolition, area residents were promised the park would be gone only temporarily.

I feel city leaders should uphold that promise.

The work being done in other parks is wonderful, but it does not negate the importance of this ‘showpiece’ park, or the fact that $10,000 was spent to make it. More than 300 residents have already requested that the city council return the park. As a downtown resident, homeowner, and registered, taxpaying voter, I join them.
