FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School chapter of the National Honor Society will collect imperishable food goods to benefit local food pantries between 6 and 8 p.m. on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Seniors meet
LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Oct. 23 with 32 members present. Prior to the meeting, the monthly meal from SeniorsPlus was served. Chairwoman Shirley Toncer then opened the meeting with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces. Mary Groleau led in singing “Amazing Grace.”
The sick list included Emile Richards, Lorraine Ellingwood and Christine Harlow. SeniorsPlus will have a Halloween party at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Shirley Toncer read a story. The 50-50 was won by Cindy Hebert. The meeting was adjourned and cards and games were played.
Benefit supper
STONEHAM – A Stefano family benefit ham dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Camp Susan Curtis. Cost is $8 a person; under 12, $5; under 3, free. Raffles will include a Bahama cruise and there will be a 50/50. To make a donation, call Andrea at 928-2119 or Tonya at 925-6509.
Knitters to meet
PARIS – The Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the First Congregational Church, 17 East Main S., South Paris. All those interested in knitted are welcome. For more information, call Midge Leighton at 743-7677.
Legion meal
RUMFORD – American Legion Post 24 will serve a meal from 5 p.m. until sold out on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the post. The menu will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert for $6. The meal is open to the public and members. Takeout will be available.
