AUBURN – Clarion A. Child, 82, formerly of Farmington, passed away from a long illness at Clover Health Facility Alzheimer’s Unit on Monday, Oct. 30, with family members at his side.

He was born in Peru, Sept. 22, 1924, the son of Elmer and Iva (Andrews) Child.

He attended schools in Peru. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Augusta Police Department as a custodian for 27 years. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his three daughters, Linda and Robert Levesque, Clarissa and Arthur Collins and Sue and Stephen Bowden; one son, Normand Child; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; several stepchildren; many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Avis Orino of Mexico, Hazel and Richard Vaughn of Peru and Anna and Harold Hebert of Peru; three brothers, Everett and Addie Child of Peru, Robert Child of Turner and Howard and Carrie Child of Peru; one sister-in-law, Janet Child of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy Child; a son, Irvin Child; his parents, Elmer and Iva Child; and two brothers, Ernest Child and Lawrence Child.
