JAY – Police said Monday they are investigating a burglary at Kenoco Kwik Gas on the corner of Riley Road and Route 4. It’s the third time in recent months the gas station has been burglarized, police said.

Either late Sunday or early Monday, someone broke the glass out of the door of the station to make entry, officer Troy Young said.

“A small amount of cash was taken,” he said. “We did collect some evidence inside the establishment. We have some leads and are following up on them.”

Officer Steve Wilkinson is the initial investigator. The case is being turned over to Detective Richard Caton IV, Young said.

Police believe the person who broke in has prior knowledge of the inner workings of the gas station, he said.
