The citizens of Auburn have a great opportunity. That opportunity is to vote for John Jenkins for mayor. Auburn needs his experienced leadership. He served as Lewiston’s mayor for two terms, and as a state senator. Included in his numerous achievements are the Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Award, the National Honor Society Youth Leadership Development Award and the Maine State Bar Association Distinguished Service Award – the only non-attorney to be so honored.

A graduate of Bates College, education has remained a major focus in Jenkins’ life. He is on the NESC board of trustees for academic accreditation of colleges and schools, and teaches a work-readiness program in schools and correction facilities.

Jenkins is a straightforward person who listens to all viewpoints and has the personality to bring consensus among all parties concerned.

Auburn citizens should seize the opportunity and vote John Jenkins for mayor.
