Lodge meeting

CANTON – Whitney Lodge 167, AF and AM, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. The meeting will be preceded by a casserole supper at 6:30 p.m.

Legion meal

RUMFORD – American Legion Post 24 will serve a meatloaf supper with potato, vegetable and dessert from 5 p.m. until sold out on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the post. The meal is open to the public and members. Takeout available.

Push supper

RUMFORD – The Final Push Supper hosted by the Oxford County Democrats will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at the Rumford Eagles Hall, Oxford Avenue.

The menu will be beef stew, homemade biscuits and gingerbread with tickets $7, or $5 for seniors or under 12. Proceeds will go to the Oxford County Democrats. The evening will include a 50-50 raffle, Chinese auction and conclusion of the county committee’s virtual silent auction, with bidding set to end at 6:30. To see the list, visit www.oxforddems.org. Elks supper

RUMFORD – A bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Rumford Elks Lodge, Exchange Street entrance. Cost is adults, $5; ages under 12, $3; and under 5, free.

Church supper

BETHEL – The Bethel United Methodist Church will host a public supper starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the church. The meal will include baked beans, hot dishes, salads, dessert and rolls for $6 adults and $3 ages under 12.

Turkey dinner

RUMFORD – Rumford Grange 115 will host a public turkey dinner with all the fixings from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the grange hall in Rumford Center. Cost for adults, $7 and for ages 12 and under, $3.50. Takeout will be available.

Union service

MEXICO – The Mexico First Baptist Church, 20 Roxbury Road, has announced that parishioners will host the monthly service of the union of evangelical churches in the River Valley at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5.

The service will feature the gospel singing group know as Greater Purpose. The group is composed of two women, Sue Gallant of Farmington and Cathi Burke of South China. They sing a selection of Christian contemporary music that includes songs they have written. They have performed and led worship in many churches in the western Maine area and most recently participated in the special music portion of Missions at the Airport, an event held in Dixfield in September.

Seniors trip

RUMFORD – Rumford Senior Citizens have 16 seats remaining for the trip to Hollywood Slots in Bangor on Wednesday, Nov. 15. The bus will leave the senior center at 8 a.m. The public is welcome to sign up, but must go to the center, 50 Congress St., to sign up for all trips.

The group is planning a craft fair and food sale Saturday, Nov. 11.

Plans includes a food basket raffle, an American Eagle rug and 50-50 raffles. The group will also serve beef stew and American chop suey with a roll and dessert for $3 a meal. Donations, monetary, crafts, food or packaged goods for the food baskets, are welcome.

The seniors will hold a Christmas party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the American Legion. Christmas dinner, entertainment and Santa are planned. Cost is $8 for members and $14 for non-members.

A trip to the Beacon Resort on Friday, Dec. 13, is also filling up. The bus will leave the center at 8:15 a.m. Cost for members is $50 and for non-members, $55.
