I live in Country Lane Estates trailer park on Sabattus Street. Enclosed with my last month’s rent bill was an estimate of my portion of the proposed rain-water tax fee. My portion would be $115.72, a far cry from the $30 that I have heard it was expected to be. This figure was arrived at by dividing the total proposed fee for the whole park by the number of lots in the park. How was that total fee determined?

I chose to live here because I wanted to reduce my tax bill. I live in a single-wide, two-bedroom trailer with a driveway that barely holds two vehicles. What would a homeowner pay for an average three-bedroom ranch and – heaven forbid – perhaps a garage?

Would someone please explain to me how the trailer park’s figure was determined?
