Glass artisan Nel Bernard owner of the Maine Art Glass Studio in Lisbon Falls is shown with a one-of-a-kind stained glass window created for the sanctuary in the Hospice House, Auburn. The window titled “The Tree of Life,” was the effort of 23 artisans who volunteered more than 350 hours during a six-month period in its creation, which incorporated some native stones including crystal, rose quartz, amethyst, mica and sliced polished agate. The window was dedicated in a ceremony last Friday.
