GREENVILLE, S.C. – Andrew “Andy” Peterson, 20, a resident of Greenville, S.C., and former resident of Leeds, died Oct. 29, in Greenville, S.C., after a yearlong illness with leukemia.

He was born Feb. 2, 1986, in Lewiston, the son of Kenneth A. Peterson and Judith Richards Kemp. Andy attended Gardiner Middle School and then went to Tripp Middle School and Leavitt High School in Turner, before returning to Gardiner Area High School.

He worked for Hartness International in South Carolina as a metal finisher. His favorite pastimes were hunting and especially fishing.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Judith and Dennis Kemp of Leeds; his father, Kenneth A. Peterson of Lewiston; three brothers, Jason Peterson of Greenville, S.C., Matthew Peterson, and his wife, Lydia, of Gardiner and Kristopher Ware of Leeds; a sister, Katrina Ware of Monmouth; a half-brother, Kenneth Robert Peterson, and his wife, Autumn, of West Allis, Wis.; grandparents, John and Sherrill Abrams of Monmouth and Fred and Eleanor Peterson of Lewiston; a step-grandmother, Pauline Bragdon of Leeds; and great-grandmothers, Dorothy Snow of Topsham and Norma Peterson of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Ronald Richards; and great-grandfathers, Fritz Peterson and Robert Snow.
