PARIS – The Western Maine Veterans’ Advisory Committee is again offering a chance to honor friends and loved ones by lighting a bulb on the “Tree of Caring” at the Maine Veterans’ Home, 477 High St., South Paris, at Christmas time.

Bulbs in memory of a deceased loved one, who need not be a veteran, or to honor a special person are $5 each. The funds received will be used for special activities and needs of the residents at the home.

To purchase a bulb or for more information, contact Dick Young at 743-8084 or make checks payable to the Western Maine Veterans’ Advisory Committee and mail to Young, 159 Paris Hill Road, South Paris, ME 04281.

The tree lighting will be held at the Maine Veterans’ Home at 7 p.m. Friday Dec. 8. Music and refreshments will be served in the multi-purpose room following the lighting.

Past “Tree of Caring” seasons have been a great success and have benefited residents.
