LEWISTON – Pamela L. Fleury, 39, of North Jay, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Central Maine Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 26, 1967, in Rumford, a daughter of David E. and E. Linda (Porter) Cox. She graduated from Rumford High School and later from the University of Maine at Farmington.

Pam taught at the Peru Elementary School and later at the Middle School in Dixfield.

On Oct. 6, 2001, she married, Raymond Fleury II in Canton.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and sewing. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Ray of North Jay; a daughter, Kimberly and stepson, Jesse Brooks-Fleury; her mother, Linda of Peru; brother, Daniel Cox of Peru; a sister, Erin Cox of Alaska; maternal grandparents, Ellery and Edythe Porter of Peru; paternal step-grandfather, Daniel Smith of Canton; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, David in 2000; paternal grandfather, Emery Warren in 1967; and paternal grandmother, Helen Smith in 2004.
