OXFORD – After 15 years, it’s time for a change.

Town officials are looking for residents to serve on a committee to revise the town’s comprehensive plan.

At Thursday’s meeting, selectmen voted in favor of the committee. Town Manager Michael Chammings said he would like to see the plan revised before ordinances come out for town meeting.

According to information handed out by the town, the review committee should look at how certain town demographics have changed over the years, such as population, economy, housing, transportation, public services, natural resources, land use and fiscal capacity.

The next steps would be to report the initial findings and draft new policies.

The report would then have to be submitted to the State Planning Office and be discussed, and finally be voted on by the public.

Many towns enacted comprehensive plans in the early 1990s, the town’s information states.

Selectmen decided Thursday that Chammings would sit on the committee, along with Board of Selectmen Chairman Scott Owens.
