Theater volunteer honored for service

AUBURN – Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre President Tim Pinkham presented Scott Powers with the President’s Award at the annual meeting of theater members in September.

Powers has been involved in the theater, going back to when he was a 6-year-old youngster and appeared as the young lad in “Our Town.” Since then, he has been in just about every play, performing major roles in comedies, dramas and musicals. When not onstage, he is either working backstage or playing in the pit orchestra.

Over the years, he has served on many committees and has held several positions on the production board. Powers has been CLT’s sound designer for many years and is presently the chairman of sound design. Whenever there is work to do, Powers is the first one there, sleeves rolled up. He is an accomplished musician and also plays in other venues. His skill as a photographer can be seen in the theater lobby.

The President’s Award is given annually to an individual who has demonstrated a high level of volunteerism behind the scenes and who donates many hours of his/her time working on or off the stage.

Anyone with an interest in the theater arts who would like to share talents should call Community Little Theatre at 783-0958.
