NORWAY – Norway Memorial Library is offering the following computer tutorials during November and December:
Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., “Word – The Basics”: Get an introduction to Microsoft’s word processing program. Participants will learn how to open a document, set up a page, select type and size, use character attributes such as bold, underline and italics, cut and paste text, check spelling, print and save a document. Participants should be comfortable with using the mouse and have basic keyboarding skills.
Thursday, Nov. 30, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., “Word – Beyond the Basics”: More about using Microsoft’s word processing program. Participants will learn how to use wizards and templates, set tabs, add graphics from online clip art, use format painter and add tables to a document. For people who are familiar with Word, but who want a brush up skills or add a few new tricks.
Thursday, Dec. 14, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and again on Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., “Excel -Getting Started Excel”: Learn how to open and set up a spreadsheet, title a document, enter text and numbers, create and calculate a formula, resize and format columns and rows, save and print an Excel spreadsheet. Participants should be comfortable with using the mouse and the keyboard.
All computer tutorials are free and open to the public. Preregistration is required. To register, call the library at 743-5309 or stop by the information desk.
