1. I am seeking this seat because it is time for change. Maine faces a great number of financial and social challenges. I want to take on those challenges, bringing an open-minded and forward-thinking approach to protecting our future here in Maine.

2. I don’t feel there can be just one priority. However, as a teacher I want to guarantee quality education to all Maine children, giving them the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s workplace. I also want to keep that workplace here in Maine.

3. I fully understand and sympathize with the supporters of TABOR, but I feel that the formula which it is based on is flawed and will hurt our public services and schools. I also am concerned that it will take power away from the citizensof our towns and state.

4. I believe that the people of Maine have a great respect for each other’s privacy and for fair treatment of our neighbors. I recognize that it is important to make sure that all people are protected by the law to guarantee their safety and rights.

5. Dirigo Health is a major step forward in providing health care to all people in Maine. As one of the 140,000 uninsured people in our state, I would like to see the insurance companies work with the state to bring the costs down and increase the number of people covered.
