1. I have a strong desire and commitment to end the partisan politics in Augusta so that we can make real changes to help enhance the lives of Maine’s citizens. I want to make sure the interests of the people come before the interests of any political party.

2. I will focus equally on responsible tax reform, affordable health care, and improving Maine’s business climate to foster job creation. Partisan politics and career politicians have inhibited the ability for real change in Maine. It’s time for new leadership in Augusta so that we can achieve a better Maine for everyone.

3. I’m opposed to TABOR because it will hurt public education in smaller communities, jeopardize social service programs such as health care for the elderly, cut emergency services in small communities, and cause drastic cuts to higher education, resulting in increased tuition making higher education less accessible to the people of Maine.

4. I believe that discrimination of any kind is wrong and I would support legislation that treats all of Maine’s citizens as equals under the law. I believe that a woman’s reproductive decisions are between her and her doctor and that the government has no role except to ensure that right.

5. While Dirigo still needs improvements, such as making it available to more people, it has had some significant success so far. From insuring over 12,000 people to providing over $44 million in savings in health care costs, the program has already made a dramatic difference in lives of many Maine families.
