Clean Election candidate?:
1. To utilize my skills as a professional mediator to work with all members of the Legislature to continue to move Maine in a positive direction.
2. Making quality and affordable health care available to every Mainer; supporting the development of a tax system fair to families and seniors; supporting and meeting the needs of our local schools; advocating fair funding for rural schools; and working toward developing a stronger more competitive Maine that values and supports local business.
3. TABOR failed in Colorado because it is too rigid and cut important services. In the past, when Mainers needed help with flood damage, heating assistance and with prescriptions drugs, our government provided assistance. TABOR would make that help much more difficult to deliver when our neighbors need it most.
4. As with all issues that will come under consideration at the legislative level, social issues will be researched thoroughly, including acquiring input from my constituents prior to making a decision.
5. Dirigo is an effort to deal with the cost, quality and access to health care. Dirigo is a step in the right direction, but it has only been in existence for roughly two years. The Legislature will be debating alternative funding to continue to assure that it delivers affordable, quality health care.
