1. As a father of two children, I am very concerned about our children having any opportunity to stay in this area due to the lack of jobs. I believe that, as a private sector mill worker, I would bring a better representation of this problem to Augusta. After all, the jobs that are gone from this area are the ones my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles worked.
2. To support Chandler Woodcock. He will need support to reduce the barriers that hinder a better business climate. I will support and encourage a better business climate by reducing undue regulatory and tax burdens on businesses.
3. I support TABOR. I believe that it can only work if legislators are committed to allowing the taxpayers a say in the level of taxation they are burdened with. TABOR would curb this and is a very necessary step to balance the influence of special interest groups who are determined to spend taxpayers’ money without taxpayer consent.
4. This election is about the economy, pure and simple. The major social issue is employment. To quote a former politician, the best social program is a job!
5. Dirigo health has failed to meet any of its goals for covering the uninsured. Millions have been spent with little results. One only need to look at Tennessee to see where this is headed; their TennCare program imploded. I support introducing competition in insurance to Maine.
