1. I believe we all have a responsibility to get involved in our government and in our community. I have business and financial experience which I feel will be useful in the Legislature. I also have two young children. I would like them to grow up and continue to live and work in Maine, a state we can all be proud of.

2. My top priority is help promote sound fiscal management and fair tax policy. I would assess how the state spends taxpayer money and look for ways to reduce that spending. I would also evaluate what taxes are being collected and what their uses are, special taxes should be for specific purposes.

3. I do not support TABOR as it is written. TABOR advocates are not explaining what the bill really says and what it will do to our necessary public services. The reduction in funding for services over time would have a negative impact on our elderly, our children, our roads and our public safety.

4. I believe that all citizens should have the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities. We can not tolerate discrimination. I am against abortion. I believe that abortion should only be considered when the life of the mother is at stake or the mother is a victim of rape or incest.

5. All people in Maine need health care coverage for economic and ethical reasons. Dirigo is a first tentative step. It has many shortcomings, most are centered around coverage requirements for Dirigo and regulation of the overall insurance industry. Maine needs to look at what other states are requiring of insurance companies and remove some of the barriers to competition that we have created.
