FARMINGTON – A local man was arrested last week on charges of unlawful sexual contact, after a child disclosed an alleged incident to school staff.
The man, Michael C. Hyde, 47, of Farmington, was arrested on Halloween by Farmington police officer Brian Ross and Franklin County Detective David St. Laurent, Lt. Jack Peck said Monday.
The arrest was made after a 9-year-old girl told school officials last Tuesday that she had been inappropriately touched by someone she knew, he said. After investigating the incident and interviewing Hyde, police arrested him on two counts of unlawful sexual contact, Peck said.
Hyde was released on $300 cash bail on Nov. 1. The case will go to the district attorney, Peck said.
