WEST PARIS – The public is invited to the dedication of the new West Paris Veterans’ Monument on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The celebration will start with a parade forming at 9:30 a.m. at the Agnes Gray School, Main Street. Participants will include the majorettes, American Legion 151 Color and Honor Guard, the Boy and Girl Scouts, the Patriot Guard and Randy Mills playing the bagpipes.

Marching veterans will include James Ryerson, Richard Smith, Randy Jones, Wade Rainey, Deli Wilson and Wayne Penley. The ceremony at the town square will be led by the West Paris selectmen and Pastors Bruce Tyner and Lloyd Waterhouse. There will be brief statements from the representatives of Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe.

The honor guard will offer a gun salute in memory of those veterans who are deceased. The festivities will conclude with coffee, cider and refreshments at the American Legion Hall, where the ceremony will be held in the event of inclement weather. All are welcome.
