LISBON – Voters on Tuesday defeated a $1.75 million bond issue to build and equip a new public works facility, even though the question left open the option of renovating the current facility. It was previously approved by the Town Council, but needed final voter approval. The question lost by a vote of 1,281 to 1,999.

Voters approved by wide margins seven amendments to the Town Charter. A total of 3,680 voters turned out for the election, a town office spokesman said.
