CLAREMONT, N.H. – Cecile Marie Berube, 91, of Maple Manor, Newport, N.H., died, Tuesday, Nov. 7., at Haven Healthcare nursing home.

She was born in Haverhill, Mass., Dec. 28, 1914, the daughter of Zephirin and Emelie (Berthiaume) Richard and had lived in the Newport area since 1987. She previously lived in Franklin, N.H., and Lewiston.

She married Ernest J. Berube and shared 62 years until his death in 1997. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Peabody Nursing Home in Franklin and also in the Endicott and Johnson Shoe Store in Franklin.

She was very family oriented and was a strong-willed person. She loved taking care of people throughout her life, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley R. Berube, and his wife, Lois, of Goshen, N.H., and Richard E. “Dick” Berube, and his wife, Leslie, of Franklin, N.H.; six grandchildren, Sharon Guy of Dover, N.H., Nancy Kimball of Sunapee, N.H., Ann Marie Danan of San Jose, Calif., Catherine Bogdasarean of Temecula, Calif., Rebecca Berube of Georges Mills, N.H., and Richard “Rick” Berube of Franklin, N.H.; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers; and one sister.
