AUBURN – Jeannette T. Chenery, certified nurse’s aide, 71, of Andover, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Rumford, on Sept. 26, 1935, a daughter of Edwin and Anne (Levesque) Longley. She attended schools in Mexico, and received her C.N.A. from the Rumford Community Hospital in 1974. She worked at the Cozy Inn Nursing Home a short-time and then at the Dixfield Nursing Home and later at the Rumford Community Hospital for 19 years until retirement in 1995.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and was a child of Mary of the church. She was a member of St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella and an honorary member East Andover Community Club, which she joined in 1957, and was a member for many years. Many family members will remember her for her Christmas parties, love of family and holidays.

She was married in Mexico, on July 14, 1955 to the late Wilbur H. Chenery Jr., who died in Rumford on July 1, 1996.

Survivors include a son, David Chenery, and companion, Stacie, of East Andover; two daughters, Vickie Cuff, and husband, Robert Sr., of East Andover and Carrie-Lynn Chenery, and companion, Raymond Herrick Sr., of Biddeford; a sister, Nancy Brackett of Portland; two brothers, William Longley, and wife, Jinny, of Jay and James Longley, and wife, Juanita, of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Elwin Chenery; a grandson, Michael Cuff; four sisters; and a brother.

A very special thank-you to the doctors and nurses at hospice who made her final days very special and peaceful. God bless you all for your kindness.
