I awoke Sunday to check the Sun Journal online for information related to the tragic death of a former co-worker. I was shocked and appalled to find no information, not even a breaking news story about his death. Deputy David Rancourt was one of the finest officers I was privileged of knowing during my time in Maine.

That the Sun Journal’s Web site is so far behind the news is a major insult to the people of Oxford and Androscoggin County who turn to the paper for the most in-depth information.

I hope those in charge of ensuring information is online are punished for this affront to the brave men and women who protect this state, county and municipalities, in that one of their own’s death didn’t rate high enough to be included in the Sun Journal online.
