LEWISTON – Alice M. Thibault of Orr’s Island, died at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion on Jan. 22, at 103 years old.

She was born in Canada on May 11, 1902, to Joseph and Marie Lemieux. She moved to Lewiston at an early age and worked at the Bates Mills for 50 years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending most of her time taking care of her grandson, Jayson Thibault and granddaughters, Lisa and Paula Caron.

She also enjoyed cooking, crotcheting, sewing and working on her gardens. Her pride and joy was the rock wall she built with stones from the beach that traveled along both sides of a 150-foot long brook along the Thibault property on Orr’s Island at the age of 85.

Survivors include one sister, Cecile Veilleux of Connecticut; one son, Lefty Thibault, and his wife, Irene, of Orr’s Island; grandson, Jayson Thibault, and girlfriend, Hollie Crowell, of Orr’s Island; granddaughter, Lisa (Caron) Aube, and her husband, Roger, of Riverview, Fla.; granddaughter, Paula (Caron) Malin of Sarasota, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, all in Quebec.

She was predeceased by her parents; nine siblings; and her daughter, Rita Beherer in September 2005.

A special thanks to Alliette Couturier and Jeannine Davis for their loving care of Alice.
