LEWISTON – Louis (Jim) Caron, 82, of Lake Street, Auburn, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion, with his wife, Rita and sister, Angie, at his side.

He was born in Auburn Aug. 23, 1924, a son of the late Pierre and Angelina (Bosse) Caron. On May 1, 1954, he married his beloved wife, Rita Fortier. They spent many good years together until his dementia took over. He fought a good battle for five years. For 25 years, Jim and his wife Rita lived in Bristol, Conn. In 1980, they moved back to Maine, because his family meant so much to him.

He was a hardworking man and a “jack-of-all-trades,” helping neighbors with little chores. In the summer, he liked going to county fairs and gardening. In the winter, he would work in the woods and take care of the snow.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Rita Caron of Auburn; six sisters, Cecile Bishop, Therese Caron, Eva Lebel, and husband, Phil, all of Auburn, Angelina Gauthier of Poland, Lilianne Latouche of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and Blanche Morin of Bristol, Conn.; a brother, Arthur Caron, and wife, Pat, of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Philias in 1931, Gerard in 2005 and Emile of this year.

His wife and family would like to thank the staff at d’Youville Pavilion, 3 East, for the wonderful care they gave Louis during his stay, it was greatly appreciated.
